I understand what your'e saying.. and that's how I used to think..
But this day in age..
I think you put the odds in your favor, if you do it my way.
Girls have way too many distractions nowadays.
You're already meeting her, should be having sex.. setting up plans now, vs getting lost in the shuffle.
But I don't think it makes that much of a difference either way..
If your game is good, 90% of the girls will meet a second time regardless on how you do it.

Say nothing, and let her do the talking first.
When she does say something like “it was fun” or “was cool meeting you” don’t be enthusiastic, instead tact less interested than her. Like 👍 emoji is good enough, or simply saying “same”
In other words, let her wonder how you actually felt in the date, don’t tell her you had fun or anything, just act as if it wasn’t a big deal
