Most likely she views snap as a more intimate form of communication. in my experience most people think of Instagram as very surface level (because anyone can find someone’s insta), Snapchat as closer that Instagram (because you usually have to get it from the person), and the good ol phone number as the closest (because the least amount of people have it).

If I had to guess I’d say this is her way of escalating the conversation

(I’m assuming that your under the age of 25 otherwise the idea of a insta<snap<phone number hierarchical structure goes out the window because 25+ y/o people are very used to giving their number to strangers whereas 18-24 y/o are not -primarily because of the popularization of Snapchat-)
