Honestly, I've been considered "attractive" for most of my life. Then I gained value with a better education, good jobs, and exciting interests, but it wasn't until I really started being genuine that I started having success with women not just based on luck like in the past.
Not to say that it's the only thing that matters, but even for attractive women, being genuine is necessary because anything else is just performative, done with the explicit intention of trying to secure her, and in this world women have had to learn to filter those kinds of guys out.

Lol nope, they haven't. What they've learned is to filter out the guys who are overt about it, who aren't doing it properly. Its like when women say they can sense when a guy is a bad person, but really they can only sense that with guys who are bad at hiding their true self. Its pretty easy to get women to think you're being genuine, if you're well-calibrated. Also, lets say you're already interesting and good-looking. You might get more girls into you by going the genuine route, but what if none of those girls is the one you really like? That's where faking it comes in.
This is not me putting too much importance on one woman or having oneitis or anything like that. Its just that if a particular woman was your first choice, based on what you see, but she isn't interested in you yet, I think its worth it to put in a little more effort into pulling her than treating her like "just another fish in the sea."

Yeah, not that being genuine is enough, but I definitely feel like it's an important part of the attraction building process, especially if you're looking for something more than a lay after clubbing or something. In situations like that, it's not really necessary but in many cases it can still give you an advantage over the others who change their personality to impress women.
I agree that sometimes you have to play around with which parts of yourself you express to the person you're trying to attract but I don't think we should just put on an entirely fake personality, then you're putting her on a pedestal among other things

See this makes more sense to me, but I also just feel like I’m at my most attractive to women when I’m just down to earth with them and show I’m genuinely interested in what they are like as a person. You might be right about most guys just not doing it properly, but I also think there’s definitely a balance. Also I do pull 8s lmfao
