Social dancing, talking to strangers in lines, going out with friends, trying new things, smiling a lot because you are actually happy.

Recognizing the kind of people I actually want to talk to. If you're feeling some kind of connection, you should just go with it or throw something out. Even if it's a "hey I like that shirt". Talking to people you want to talk to is powerful

Another one, just saying something to someone. Literally just say something, step out of your comfort zone, it doesn't even have to be clever or anything, just saying something eventually makes you feel more open to the world as a whole and you will start chatting up random strangers easily like it's autopilot

Being bold. If everything feels right, just say that thing you want to say, do that thing you want to do. Worst case scenario is that they'll laugh it off and say no thanks, best case scenario is that they're into it and will comply. I literally just got a hug from my version of an 8/10 today because I chatted her up and asked for one. Fuck it

Being chill. It really helped to have the notion in the back of my mind that having a conversation with someone random really isn't a big deal. Initiating a conversation in the first place is a bonus because it shows confidence. Even if the convo doesn't go anywhere you still did it and proved to yourself it was easier than you thought it was and the positives outweigh the negatives of not saying anything. Kind of intermixed points but my main point is, man, just, fuck it.

What helped me the most starting out was repeating in my head "we're all just floating on a rock and we're destined to die anyways, might as well just talk to that girl I think is cute over there lmao" it really is that simple

To preface, I am only recently getting into self confidence and approaching people and getting over one-itis and all that shit, I’m still learning. That being said, I’ve learned a few things in that time.

The first step is overcoming the initial stranger danger kind of vibe with new people. Appearance (both genetic and stylistic) is probably the biggest factor in my opinion.

Can’t do shit about your height or face but there’s a shit ton else you can do.

Get some new clothes and spend a lot of time planning out outfits when you buy them.

Exercise if you’re out of shape, yada yada yada.

My little secret I’ve discovered is that you need a ‘thing’. A gimmick essentially.

Nothing forced or corny or needy.

Just a tiny little something that makes you stand out.

For me that’s longboarding and/or playing music on a speaker. I’ve only done it for a couple months and bro it’s unreal how much attention you get from people, especially if you’re passing bars and clubs. Girls ask you to teach them, that kind of shit. They comment on songs your playing as you walk by, it’s a perfect opening and it even results in them opening not you. I don’t even do any tricks on the board btw. People just think it’s cool that I’m enjoying myself and doing my own thing or something i dunno what it is really.

If I was wearing the exact same clothes, going the exact same direction, no one would say anything unless I initiated. But I get on the longboard (which took like barely a week to get reasonably proficient at btw) or play some solid music, and I’m genuinely enjoying myself, getting good exercise, and consistently getting stopped by people to talk and flirt.

Idk what your thing might be (I’d recommend longboarding personally it’s a ton of fun) but ya just find something that draws attention to you in a positive way that is not obnoxious or needy. I don’t blast my music super loud or play niche shit, and I sure as hell don’t try anything to fancy with the board, especially around people.

Probably not related to picking up girls but taking freezing cold ice baths helped me. Approaching women and ice baths both you are really scared of doing before but once you are done you feel ontop of the world.
