You can never really have him. Even if you reach a point where you officially call each other ‘boyfriend’ and ‘girlfriend,’ there is a part of you which is always on edge, unsure of what is going to happen next. The rug can be pulled out at any moment, and there is something about the unknown that can be so intoxicated. When you are always waiting, always anticipating, the moment when affection or attention or confirmation actually arrives is like a huge dose of some incredible drug.

Adrenaline from dread game.

It’s unexpected, and therefore interesting. His love remains a surprise because you can’t be sure of when or where it’s going to come.

Dread game and scarcity creates value.

There is a definite power structure in these relationships, because you rely on his affection while he could definitely be fine without you.

Stoic detachedness and outcome independence = you seem dominant, makes her moist in the loins.

Confidence is amazing. It’s like some kind of natural perfume that just radiates off of people and draws others in,

Positive energy is inherently magnetic.

It’s all about tying them down and making them your own, and being overcome with frustrated passion when you’re not able to

Trying to make a guy beta, if you win you hate it because it gets boring, but they love trying it anyway because its so much fun from all the drama and shit that happens as a result. It's like their built-in shit test.

Other women want him, too. You can see the look in their eyes when he talks to them with easy, detached confidence. You

Preselection.

His walls will come down, his emotions will come out, and he will start answering your calls on a regular basis. Maybe it’s maternal instinct, maybe it’s just pure stupidity — either way, a huge part of your love is about fixing him.

Don't fucking understand this shit.

I guess the real problem is, if you ever did really teach him how to love normally, would you still want him just as much?

No because it's too easy, boring, not enough drama etc.

His walls will come down,

Betafication of alpha is women's game

[–]ModAerobus 22 points23 points24 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

And then they move on to another alpha because they get bored of the new beta they created.

I'd like to think this doesn't happen to often. Usually it seems they get so frustrated with not being able to turn alphas into betas after years of riding the carousel, they switch to betas (almost always after hitting the wall).

[–]Boss_Monkey 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They collect beta souls like notches.

[–]Endorsed Contributorvandaalen 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Actually that's about ensuring provision. Being emotionally open implies that you are connected and commited.

That is not solely a beta thing.

She want the man to love in the way a woman loves. Until he does she perceives him as broken. In the same way, many men here essentially perceive women as broken men.

This is an interesting idea.

This is a good point.

Most of the time "treat like crap" is used to mean not calling for a few days, ignoring her when she complains, or basically not just bowing to her every whim.

This is part of gap between actual reality and the world women live in, they think they're so badly done by, yet in reality they might have an abusive man who regularly smacks them in the face and threatens violence if they leave...there's just no perspective at all.

And of course the moment you treat them nice, and bow to their every demand, you're no longer an alpha in their eyes and they stray to the next alpha.

Thanks for posting this. My 12 year old son is just starting to "like girls" and is going on his first outing tomorrow night. I just had him read this ( the reddit post not the link).

edit: changed a word (thanks auto-complete!)

If only I had a father like you I wouldn't had to have gone through the painful and depressing process of rewiring my once blue pill brain

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My pleasure. Wish somebody had shown me this when I was twelve.

[–]frequentlywrong 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Give him the book of pook and the rational male book.

[–]Ochreata 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I think Pook would be a little beyond a twelve year old. Dad should certainly distill down the wisdom in it for him though.

[–]justlooking47 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Can you link me Pook?

[–]frequentlywrong 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

google the "book of pook"

It's fucked up that having confidence, doing my own thing, getting what I need from within and not falling hopelessly in love = "treating her like crap."

The way some women act, anything less than putting her on a pedestal and bowing before her makes you a player who "doesn't treat women right." Passing her shit tests and refusing to play her silly games makes you an asshole, etc. Player, asshole, bad boy, "You only want me for sex", these are her go-to lines when she can't handle you setting boundaries and standing by your principals. She's like a child throwing a tantrum because she can't figure out how to get the beta out of the box.

This used to frustrate me to no end. More and more, though, I'm amused by it. It's become something fun to watch, like a dog chasing its tail. I can see it coming a mile away and when it starts to happen I just sit back, smile and let the hamster entertain me.

Hmm, there should be an app for that. Something that hides messages from her until the next reinforcement point.

Right, but also what's interesting is how strongly this models the parent/child relationship.

I have Russian friends - it's very interesting to watch them raise their daughter. The mother dotes on the daughter. Gives her a lot of attention all the time. If the daughter wants something, she responds like 90% of the time.

The father, on the other hand, responds about 25% of the time. Of course he's taking care of the kid, we're talking about "pay attention to me" kind of responses. If the kid was bleeding he'd be right over there. But the kid just wants attention when it's the mothers turn to play with the daughter? He practically acts like the kid doesn't exist.

The child is sitting in a room with no attention. They don't get attention. They don't get attention. They don't get attention. Suddenly - the parent appears and they get attention. It's such a rush. It's always a surprise (for a small child) - getting your parents attention is the only thing you were looking for.

With respect to the article here, I hate to say this but - a lot of women are like this, but a lot of women are not.

Biggest problem is, the women who are not like this usually end up in relationships fairly early. If they're at all attractive at least. I mean they treat men like they enjoy being treated and they're attractive - they're going to be off the market.

The kind of women who get turned on by being unavailable - well those women stay on the market forever. They comprise the majority of women who are still available (for a reason)...

What I'm really struck by is how much this models a semi-absent parent relationship. The child is always unsure of what's going to happen next. The rug can always be pulled unexpectedly at any moment. The child is always waiting, anticipating, with no control over when the parent will be there or give attention or not. When it actually happens - after a long buildup of anticipation - it's like a huge dose of some incredible drug to finally get the unpredictable attention that they want.

If you want hot girls to treat you the way fat girls do, then you've got to treat hot girls the way you treat fat girls. Kind of the fundamental principle of seduction.

If you've built enough attraction, and ignore her texts, while all those other dudes are blowing up her phone, shell be hearing it buzz every time hoping its you
