First of all, you're going to have to ask every single girl in the world, because people have different opinions.

Secondly you can't overanalyze every single word you say or you will go crazy.

Thirdly what you say isn't as important as the meaning you are trying to convey - which is "I'm going to stick it in eventually"

Maybe you read about it. This is an old tactic going back to the Mystery Method days. It is for indirect approaches, especially to mixed groups, when you are trying not to reveal your sexual interest in the women. Guys is more gender neutral than approaching with some schtick like "hello, ladies." You are approaching them as people, not as women.

I just use it all the time by habit. I kept calling a girl, "man," until it got to the point she just said, "Hey, I'm not a man, okay?" then grabbed my hand and put it on her tits.

Would be pretty neutral. I doubt the woman pay any mind to it unless you begin to single out the one you really want.

Say what you want. Any girl who will throw a fit over "hey guys" is either a feminazi or a drama factory. Either way, not dateable.

Is this seriously a topic? If you're asking about this, you probably have much worse sticking points. Figure those out and ask us when you get there, AFTER trying to figure them out for yourself. This is the least of your worries. I've called girls dude, bro, man, whatever.
