So I had recently been watching this South African behaviorist's show who is really famous for befriending various lions and hyenas. He is now even a member of various prides and hyena gangs and in some cases has more respect than the highest ranking males and females in those groups.
Check him out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zd97TnKlRZM
The main reason he is able to do this is because he always really calm in his interactions with the animals. He always stays nonreactive and always gradually escalates his interactions with them. This is completely opposite to how a typical human reacts by completely freaking out which in turn causes the animal to freak out and start attacking. Kevin also never loses focus on all animal he is around and makes sure they too are focused on him. It turns out that even for lions, strong eye contact conveys dominance and gets respect.
I have personally always been pretty bad with women and just extremely under confident due to my upbringing and weak health. Watching him made me realize that if a human who is completely dissimilar to all these beasts can somehow become a leader among them, an ugly chode like me should be able to socialize and approach any women he wants no matter how hot and scary looking she is.
I used to get insta-rejected by females and blamed it all on my looks and race and all that shit. I used to say my opener by completely leaning in and with a weak voice and then made a face that told everyone that I was looking for a reaction. This made the girl freak out completely and also signal the other ones nearby to step in for help. At times I would just creep in from behind and all of a sudden start saying stuff to the girl.
Recently I have started taking some inspiration from Kevin by being completely non-reactive during my approaches. I approach slowly with my chest completely out. I say my opener loud, clear and with a deep voice allowing the girl to lean in to listen to me. If the girl is turned somewhere else or is moving I make her stop completely and be fully attentive before I say anything. After I say my opener, I stand there like a rock, taking a good chunk of space, staring in her eyes with a slight smile on my face and waiting for her to say something back. I also make eye contact with every guy and girl in the group and have them acknowledge my presence. I have all of them come and introduce themselves to me and in some cases I just throw in a general question (where you guys from? etc) to involve all of them. I gradually then shift my focus back to the girl and proceed from there. If they start walking away for some reason, my body stays in the exact same position and if needed only my head moves. Usually they just stop and come back for some reason. My approached have now started being way better than before.
Guys who I see get rejected really quickly make the mistake of just not taking enough time and space and not planting the correct emotion in the interaction. The key is to go in in a nonthreatening way so that the girl gradually becomes used to your presence while showing intent loud and clear.
I think this is what RSD teaches as "state transference" but this perspective of raw animal behavior just really helped me understand everything better. I hope someone will benefit from this.
