Non-partiers, have any of you tried dating a party girl? How did it turn out?

I'm not a prude but partying isn't my thing. I have an addictive personality so I try to stay away from substances.

So it sounds like you shouldn't date partiers. Seriously, if you're trying to stay away from substances, why then would you want to spend time around people who are experimenting with substances and likely to draw you into all that?

It doesn't matter if that cuts back on the pool of candidates. The whole point of meeting people and socializing is that you're not going to get along with everyone anyway but you're going to find people you do get along with so it's no sweat.

But I'm in college, so I'm probably going to run into a lot of girls that I'm drawn to personality wise that happen to be partiers.

Well, I guess you have a choice then. How important is this decision you've made to stay away from substances? If it's not really that important, then you're going to end up dating party girls and partying despite your desire to stay away from it all.

Or maybe you'll date someone like that and hate that they party and it's a bone of contention that leads to drama and fights, etc.

There really isn't a complicated decision here. You stick to your guns, you don't, or you change your views on substances.

But as far as girls, there are a lot that might party, but a lot that don't like that stuff very much either.

You're probably going to be better off if you can find your own way to balance going to parties, with some self-control as far as the substances go. You're a grown adult, you are capable of going to a party and not getting drunk.

You have an addictive personality? Fine, there are ways to cope with that and find moderation. Or you can choose to give all your personal power away and believe that someone outside of you (a substance or whatever) has power over you and makes you powerless.

Hi there, I'm kinda in the same boat, but I'm dating the guy of my dreams. The only flaw (its really not a flaw but for the sake of explanation, we are calling it flaw) he has is partying. We are in a committed relationship, next Wednesday actually marks a year. The thing we argue about the most is his paryting, well now the lack of in his case. I as well as you have an addictive personality, annnnd addiction runs in my family.. Yay us!

But all I'm gonna say is if you guys are gonna make it work you have to have trust. I don't go to parties with my SO, well this is also do to the fact of me not being able to go for other reasons, but if I could I don't know how much I would. But I believe this guy is my person, I've never felt anything like it before and its amazing, he treats me well and I reciprocate. My point here is if you arent going to go to parties with her, have trust.

If you arent interested in having trust or worry about stuff like that, I would suggest finding someone kinda like me, that feels the same way as you do about the whole substance topic. Feel free to private message me as well, I can explain on some more detail!

You just temporarily party with them. Partying with a party chick is the most fun you will have in your entire life.

Stop putting labels on girls, that will affect you so much, it is ok to have a "general idea" but there is a high chance that those ideas will limit your experience with those girls, get dates with them and get an experience yourself, we all have different views and values, so do not use labels so easily, some are crazy some are down to earth.

Be the 'designated driver'. You can be there and have fun but not use mind altering substances. Party girls are great fun. I married one and am still the designated driver and love it.

Don't--they bang every weekend and will cheat. If you're not trying to do substances and trying to find an actual supportive partner either a smart or church girl. Whatever you do don't drink or go out; I did and I started everything. Go out but not a hard party with immature people and underage drinking.

Probably a bad idea. I love party girls and my relationships with them are great but I like to party. I can’t imagine being with a girl like that if I didn’t love to party. I’d probably always be trying to get her to stay in with and that would make her want to go out more. Then I’d be worried about her cheating on me and that will make her want to cheat more. That’s like a mouse dating a cat, the cat will probably tear you to shreds accidentally.
