So, I've been thinking about this a lot lately, probably indicating I'm forgetting some important detail from the side bar... anyway. The "Let's Just Be Friends" rejection. I get that early on if you get this after expressing interest right away, chances are you should move right along, "I have enough friends, thanks though", next, etc.

But what if you've been just friends with a girl for a while and you start catching IOIs and stuff and find yourself interested in her. If at that point you tell her you are interested and she gives you the LJBF, do you then have to withdraw attention from the friendship? Obviously you don't want to keep it up just in hope that she'll eventually see what a good boyfriend you could be, that's bullshit. Instead you just move on and look at other women/yourself, while still maintaining the friendship?
