Why do I feel I'm more attractive to younger girls than those my age?

Evolutionary psychology: women seek a provider mate, thus why men reach peak attractiveness later (28-32) than women. The older a woman is, the more she is looking for that stable mate who will be there long term, she's going to start losing her beauty, or already has (relatively, obviously women can be foxy into their 50s as Sandra Bullock, Lisa Kudrow, and others can show), and her biological clock is ticking. So she's got that biological imperative to find a mate that will take care of their kids. Stability and status starts taking precedence over looks.

It's long been common for men to be ~5 years older than their brides. The bride price was such that men had to work for a considerable amount of time to afford it, and by that time most women his age would likely have been married off. So historically speaking, you ending up with a woman significantly younger than you isn't that big of a deal.

My advice, if you're dead set on finding women closer to your age, would be displaying your provider qualities higher.

You're self-conscious about looking young, so I'm sure there's an observational bias. Also, teenagers aren't very subtle, so it's easier to notice their attention. The bottom line here is that if you want women your own age, approach women your own age. You shouldn't be waiting around for a neon sign.

Side note: If you have the opportunity to fuck some women who are in their physical prime, you should go for it. Even if you decide that you prefer women your own age, the experience will solidify that in your mind, making it less likely that some young vixen will ever tempt you to throw away a good relationship. You'll be able to brush her off with a "Been there, done that" attitude.

I'm 28, and I am attracted to girls 18 - 24, or that just look young and act youthful. That's my preference and it works for me.

Ive been there. I think the cold hard truth is that you're intimidated by women your age or older because you're scared that you'll seem less than a person than they are. I suggest you look for women your age since 25-30 is the age where most people are sure of themselves along with goals and beliefs.

I am in the same boat as you are, honestly, women your age probably are attracted to you.

I constantly get hit on by younger girls and older women, but never girls my age. I think this is because these girls/women don't think they have a realistic chance of being(relationship, sex, whatever) with me. Women my age are much more coy. I think they act like that to make it seem like they are "hard to get", while the older/younger women never seriously consider having a relationship with me. Does that make sense?

I relate to you the same. Honestly im almost your age and dont care girls of that age. I rather have younger girls, but that just me.

This is so weird; I want to be more attractive to girls around my age. I look young for my age, aside from my balding head, but I have a hunch that girls like that are into me just because of the 'older guy' factor. Can anyone relate?

This is almost certainly a form of observational bias.

I mean, have you SEEN all the posts here from older guys fussing over how they don't think anyone will want to date them after they get "too old?" Also, you're not old enough to have the "older guy" factor yet. Unless you've aged poorly? 26 is still kinda green, relatively speaking.

I'm 26. I never get any looks from girls my age or older (that I notice, anyway, or are few and far between), but I often catch girls around 19-22ish checking me out—quite obviously. Just yesterday a group of 4 girls started actually catcalling me (!!!) at a mall.

Look, those girls are probably not as old as 22. And the answer is obvious: all the girls are probably checking you out. The difference is that younger girls lack the savviness to do so discreetly, and so they get caught left and right.

I've been liking younger girls lately. 18-21 mainly. 26 myself. I am having the feeling that it has to do with "catching up".
