It always strikes me as counterproductive when wives try to break down and shame their husbands like this. When he is shamed, she is shamed by proxy, i.e. "Your husband is a loser. You're married to a loser. You must be a loser too." If anything I would expect women would try to bolster their husbands and try to make them look as high-status as possible, thus reaping the proxy benefit i.e. "Your husband is a fucking champ. You're married to a fucking champ. You must be a champ too."

I don't think they are that smart.

I once locked my wife outside on purpose, does that count ? She was blabbing about some stuff and going into hysterics like women sometimes do. Some crap about me being and insensitive asshole. She was also blabbing some nonsense about how I shouldn't sleep in my bed.

Women always want you an audience when they are hysterical, so I slowly moved outside, and she followed me. Then I made sure that I casually switched my position so I was closer to the door then she was. Intentionally I said something to make her more hysterical, and then while she was distracted calmly walked inside shut the door and locked it.

I thought it was down right hilarious.

What a fucking chump.

I was married once. My wife demanded I sleep on the couch once. I said, "You don't have a job. You've never had a job. I pay for everything. This bed we're sleeping in? I bought it. It's mine. I'm sleeping in it whether you fucking like it or not. Don't want to sleep next to me? You're welcome to GTFO and sleep on the couch yourself, but I'm not moving."

I don't remember her reply. It consisted of screaming and demanding and meaningless threats. However, I do remember the response from me that ended the fight: "If you think you've got what it takes to pick me up and move me to that couch against my will, I encourage you to try, because that's the only way you're gonna get me there." I then rolled over and went to sleep. She wisely chose to take all 110lbs of herself to the couch instead of engaging me and she never demanded that I sleep on the couch again.

In our house whoever is the annoyed party is the one who sleeps on the couch/spare bedroom.(Not that it has happens often) Neither one of us has ever demanded that the other person go. If you have the problem you leave is basically the rule.

It's funny doing that though probably leads to a resolution quicker.
