I'm a relative newbie at this, and have been approaching only for a short while (and mostly trying to approach girls on public transport, resting/sitting down somewhere, or working in a shop/cafe/etc. Haven't tried approaching a girl walking/running yet), and I've seen absolutely zero luck in getting anything beyond "I have a boyfriend." or just an outright "No, sorry." and it's irritating the shit out of me.

Since approach anxiety is a major sticking point for me, and I've seen it recommended for beginners to just keep asking out girls until they get a kiss, or a lay, just to get comfortable, I thought I'd just try the old "Hey, _________, maybe we can exchange numbers and meet up?" and go from there, and while my "small talk" period before asking them out isn't super-long, I figured I'd at least be able to get a number. AT LEAST.

Nope. Forget dealing with flakes/dates/escalation, I can't even get a goddamn number. Yeah, I'm a kissless virgin in his early 20's, and yeah, I'd like to have sex. I'm not going to apologize for it, nor deny my urges, and I am pretty upfront about it. Yet, I feel like I'm stuck at zero, and can't even budge from there.

I'm not ugly, probably around average, and I put effort into grooming, I work, I partake in several social activities, go to the gym even though I'm pretty thin right now, and have OK social skills, so I don't know why I'm stuck here. Is there just something I can't see that makes me unfuckable or something? Am I just one of those guys that needs to spend a lot of time sweet-talking a girl first before I can even get a number, instead of a quick, friendly chat and making a move?
