Yeah bro, that's life. You miss 100% of the shots that you don't take. We're all guilty of it, I can't even begin to count the amount of times I've let opportunity slip because I overthought the moment or just plain bitched out.

I mean ultimately you could have gone up to that girl and she could have told you to fuck off because she's busy. But on the other side of the coin you also could have also hit it off with her, went skating for your first date, finished it off with a smoothie from down the road and both realised that you share an amazing connection. But at the end of the day you just don't know what going to happen unless you actually take action and find out yourself.

Here's to wasted opportunity and everything that we've learnt from it. All thats left to do now is put it in to action.

I just started my first semester at a university. I had transferred from a community college. My schedule got messed up, and I ended up having to switch classes. The class I tried signing up for required me to take a free exam on campus. I get signed up for the test and sit in the waiting area. It's here where I notice a cute girl sitting by herself on her phone.

Now, every other time I've been in this situation I did what OP did. I would think about going to talk to her, end up not doing it, losing the opportunity, and regretting it later. Not this time. I went up to her almost immediately. I'll tell you what, I don't think I've ever been so initially attracted to a girl that much in my entire life. She was 100% my type, 10/10. (Most of you would see her as an 8.) Anyway, it seemed to be going well. It only lasted for about 2 minutes and we were going through the initial college talk, (i.e. What's your major, what year are you in, do you live on campus, etc.) but she seemed into the conversation and she didn't look at her phone at all during. Anyway, just as I was about to attempt to shift the conversation to a more flirty manner, the lady calls me in to take my test, sounding like she was really in a hurry to get me in there.

I had to act immediately. My first instinct was to tell her to wait and get the girl's number, but the nice guy inside of me told me to respect the other lady and go on in for my test. I listened to the nice guy. I swapped names with girl and told her I hope to run into her again. I regretted it more and more each step I took, and I regretted it throughout the test. I was hoping she'd still be testing when I finished, but she was long gone. I haven't seen her since. I failed the test too. Fuck.

I feel I should add that I would have failed the test regardless, and my desire for her didn't affect my score in any way.

In the end, I'm really proud of myself for doing something I would have never had the balls to do before. It's really that easy. Maybe I'll run into this girl again someday, but I sure wish I had gone with my gut and gotten the number anyway.

Lessons learned:

Go with your gut and instinct 100% of the time.

You only live once. Take every opportunity you can get.

I say not to approach random women you don't know. I've seen a lot of in-field videos where bad things happen.. someone else in the background sees the guy trying to get the girl they come in and say "she's obviously uncomfortable, leave her alone!".. one guy was talking to a girl in the mall, after they were done talking, she alerted mall security.. other times, there are boyfriends lingering around, who come in later. Who needs this shit, really!?
