Congrats on getting out your funk.

Don’t do a movie. Movies are bad because you can’t get to talk to one another nor will you be able to make the eye contact.

Is it your first date? If so, keep it simple: coffee or drinks. It’s low key, you don’t have to spend much money, you can get to talk and know one another, find a reason to make eye contact and touch and it provides ample exit by either party if they don’t want to continue.

I would say keep an additional place or two in your back pocket in case you find things going really well and want to continue the night. Go to another bar, or try to move things back to your place.

I’ve been to a lot of first dates, and the ones that seem to end well are photography dates and stand up comedy dates.

I recommend the stand up comedy.

Movie and dinner is a fine first date. Also, this lets you know that she likes you for you, and not for the cool "experience" she can get from you.
