If you're high functioning autistic, there's a decent chance you're well suited to figuring shit out, so:

figure out getting in good shape
figure out getting money
figure out the mechanics of social interaction

youll be fine.

Change your perspective on yourself and watch how much your life changes over the years. You have challenges that make it harder for you to accomplish certain things so it will obviously take longer but that doesn't mean you can't accomplish them.

You have to start believing you are worthy of dating and that you do have something to offer. See yourself as you want to be in your mind and you'll start to work towards that image. Don't tell yourself you lost the game before the game even starts, you have no idea what you are capable of until you try.

The overall question of whether this really works, or if it really works for you even if you're awkward, depressed, over 30, etc. Short answer = Yes, it will. Many of us started out depressed or awkward and dug our way out. A lot of us were late bloomers and a lot of us are over 30. Don't make a post until you've put in the foundational reading and work in.

Of course it is worthwhile to date! Not only are we genetically predisposed to pair up with at least one mate at a time, but psychologically and spiritually, when you meet someone that loves and cares for you like you do them then it trumps any of the struggle you will have getting to that apex moment!

Will it be easy? Absolutely not! Heck, this isn't easy for me and I am in amazing shape, highly educated, not rich but I can super size my McDonalds Meals if I want, a car, place to stay, articulate, British/Australian type accent living in the US etc. I have immense qualities and I am petrified of the opposite sex.

Ain't nothing to it but to do it! The main question is will it be worth it? That answer is resoundingly YES! Dating and loving beats sleeping around any day of the week! God speed good sir!
