The rating system is based on pure speculation, and the whole LJBF ladder simply makes no sense at all (why is it a fucking ladder - what is the difference between the top and the bottom).

The fact that people have target expectations of mates is explained much better by a multitude of factors than simply putting people on a sliding scale.

I have yet to have someone explain effectively why ladder theory involves ladders. Take from that what you will.
