I heard Tom Cruise talking about the shooting of that scene in an interview once. He said all the extras who made up then men in the seminar audience were really loving it and going wild, getting really into it because they loved the whole "Respect the cock, tame the cunt" thing.

He was saying that he was telling them between takes that the character was a bad person, and what he was saying was wrong so they shouldn't be reacting to well to it. Alpha film stars always pretend to be white knight manginas for some reason.
