I don't post much on seddit, so this might get buried, but I just had a mild revelation and I thought I'd share in the hopes it might inspire someone else.

I just read this comment in the atheism portion of reddit. As an atheist myself, I believe that if I want any change at all in my life I have to do it. Nobody's going to do it for me, there's not plan, out specific outcome, no fate guiding my life. Basically, if I sit around and wait for something great to happen, nothing will happen.

But I'm not here to talk about religion, it just so happens that the godless mentality of do it yourself or it won't happen has a pretty fair connection with gaining confidence, learning to communicate and being attractive. As a part of that, I'm here to talk about why we read seddit in the first place .. we want to be happy. Whether you're looking to score with a different 8-10 HB every night or just looking for that one girl to come home to, we're chasing happiness. I've been single for quite a while now and it's starting to wear on me. I've been trying to up my game and I've done fairly well at it, but that comment above took it to another level today. The whole you may be a spec of nothing in the universal sense but an amazing piece of evolution in the smaller sense got me thinking. I'm in control of my life. If I want to be good at something, I just have to go out and get good at it. If I want a girl, I should learn all of this stuff, figure out what works for me through practice and go for it. Getting shot down should be a positive part of the night because it's learning something and moving closer to my goals. It's like trying to bench more than you did yesterday, even if you fail, at least you tried! I can't just sit around and hope things work out, I have to do it myself.

So, finally .. the question. How do all of you view these things in terms of finding the right girl(s)? What are you goals and how do you plan on achieving them? Are you actively learning, practicing and going after the things you want or are you sitting around waiting for something to click or for someone to come along and accept the half-ass'd, anxiety filled, lacking in self confidence, still working on your emotional baggage, weak conversationalist you are now? Basically, we all here have goals, what are you doing about it?

As I stated in the title, these are mainly rhetorical questions geared to get everyone up out of the bar stool and talking to that girl. but, if you have your own thoughts, stories or other motivational things, I'd love to hear them. Go get'em seddit. Every fuck starts with an approach.
