Context: In a previous post, i explain a bit about myself and how I occasionally go out with the purpose of meeting new people. I explained how I recently did this but got sidetracked/distracted and never got her number. In short, I decided that I wasn't going to follow up. Not because I was scared or too shy but because It just seemed too unlikely and not worth fretting about (other fish, etc) I missed that chance. Sai la ve.

Ok, so this time around, same coffee shop. I hadn't actually planned on meeting anyone today, i was just around town after finishing my errands and decided to stop for some coffee drink. I arrive, get my drink, go out front, found a seat, lit up a cig and sipped away. Half way through my cig I apparently missed two consecutive "excuse me"'s from a really attractive girl sitting a few tables behind me. She approached me, put a hand on my shoulder and explained that she was calling me from yonder to ask if she could buy a cig.

I noticed she was really attractive. "Read: An, out of my league but not HB11+ mindset." I unhesitatingly said No. She scoffed and said if i gave her one we could be friends. Now, i read a seddit post where i guy pulled a sly line off this exact proposition and it immediately came to mind. I apologize for ripping off whomever i read this from. I responded with a mocking scoff and said "i really don't need friends that bad." she seemed to have froze for a second with an odd look on her face and then asked if we'd met before somewhere. I readjusted myself in my seat to get a straight forward look and realized Id recognized her from somewhere as well. A few seconds passed and I didnt really want to sit, fearful of that dreadfully odd expression that some people make when they awkwardly try to remember inane shit. I interrupted this process by extending my hand and saying my name is Subpar_throwaway, she said "oh shit thats right!" At this point i thought she was just fucking with me and trying to be flirty/exploitative to get a cig. Until she told me her name, which is an extremely uncommon one to me. I realized she was another missed connection that i had from months ago. We met at a rave, where i was actually dancing decently well considering im me! A mitual friend introduced us, I was infatuated because of her name and offered to get her a drink. There wasn't suppose to alcohol at this event because it's not a licensed venue, I know the guy throwing the event, therefore im able to get drinks from the "vip/storage room fridge" I grab her hand and we begin walking through the crowded floor to one of the back hallways where the room was. I get to the door and its locked. Le FFFuuu! I said "well shit, let me ask who has the key, ill brb" I make it approx 3 inches away and the lights fail, music stops and the crowd roars "Booo!" Police come walking through the front and the host is no where to be seen. Anyways the party crashes and everyone clears out, i lose sight of her and its over with. later find a mutual friend who knows her and told her to give her my number. I never got a call :(.

Back to today, I go oh damn, promptly stand up and gave her a hug and continue on with "how ya been" BSing.

I step back and say "hold on a second, Ill give you a cig if you tell me why i never got a call from you." (failing to see this is a really lame question that i shouldn't have set myself up with) She says "uhm, i think i did and you didnt answer." I said thats a likely excuse but whatever. I reached into my pocket to grab a cig for her and i get tackled/bear hugged by some fat guy, who turns out to be a mutual friend of ours. Who came with 6-7 people who are all mutual friends of ours... so now theres about 10 of us gather at this coffee shop bullshitting and goofing off. I managed to catch a few looks from this girl. One was a very clear smile + giggle, i realized i didnt smile at all cause im a dorkfuck and do a double take with investigative eyes and i open up with, hey btw how old are you. Shes 22, im 23 perfect. Since i technically still owe you that drink, this friday, [local bar] is doing some Halloween thing, you should come. (very conscious not to ask if shed like to come, or what she was doing if shes available etc.) She said shes working, i asked till when, she said 10, i said so whats wrong with coming after, she said ok sure, "do you still have the same number?" This caught me offguard, so i retorted with, do you still have my "number?" (yes i did the quote fingers) :(

she pulls out her phone and attempts to call me.... it doesn't come through, so i said well give me your number maybe your phone is a piece of shit. Shes reads it off, i give her a call, it goes through. She says oh, i had your number off by one digit (200-392 instead of 200-329) and went "oh fuck... but fuck yeah!" (in my head)

anyways, girl met, confidence shown, socials set, date obtained.

Alright, so I have no fucking clue about bar etiquette. Can someone provide some very clear "do's & dont's" The bar has a billards room, should I offer we play if an awkward silence draws itself? How hard would it be to convince this girl that she should invite me to her place? Im not shy and i have no trouble speaking to anyone about anything, so im ready to do whatever suggested no matter how "difficult" to pull off.
