Last weekend in NYC, had to make it count. I met up with a FWB in Philly and got a LTR out of my system for good, damn dry spells. I met up with my sister before the night started and got in the vibe by talking to four awesome black guys. I'm quite surprised my social skills have stayed relatively intact despite a week off. I meet up with my friends, a guy and a girl in an LTR, and go into a pretty awesome venue with bands playing. Drinks are expensive, but I start putting them away fairly quick. I chat with the bartenders, try to keep my friends from being boring, and start to get buzzed. There is a HB9 Asian bartender and I get a feeling she's into me, but I just treat her like a person and tip well.

My friends and I go upstairs, wait for more music to start, and I realize I don't have a drink. I go back downstairs alone to get one, because they are cheaper and the bartender digs me, and open a random guy. I talk about Brooklyn as the hipster capital of the world and another guy gets into the conversation. He's more at my energy level so we have a funny and interesting conversation about the weather and global climate change. He leaves and lo' and behold a HB8 is standing at the bar alone behind him.

The transition to her was so natural, DW style I just used what was around her to open her, asking her what she's drinking. We keep up conversation about music (awesome) and Europe (she's Swedish), and I start using kino. Here I'm starting to notice it doesn't work wonders as I'd thought, but she's generally receptive. I tried not to overdo kino, even though all I did was touch the small of her back, and I tried to keep from leaning in. I'd argue that the benefits of leaning in are being able to get closer and the occasional almost kisses when we switch ears to talk into, but you can get those when she leans in, so work on it. As for kino, I don't escalate beyond her lower back, except for the occasional hip grab. When I notice she's not hyper sensitive to it, I back off, and she responds with arm touches. Hmmm. She's still giving me verbal IOI's, though subtle, and she's sticking around. As I write this, I'm thinking I need to work on building verbal attraction, as I didn't drop any false DQ's or negs, this time. Also, I hadn't quite become the life of the party.

Anyways, the bartender sees me talking to her and she starts looking really jealous, unfortunately I never capitalize on it. Also, I totally forgot about my friends and they came down to say goodbye, whoops. I get a mutual friend's number and text her occasionally for preselection/social proof. I take HB8 upstairs to the dance floor, and I realize I have to piss awfully bad. On the way, I grabbed her hand and led her around a bit. Nice. We dance a little bit, and I try to bring her closer, but she's resistant. Kino is not working very well at all, but we're still dancing and having a good time. She says she wants to see live music, so I take her upstairs by the hand, where there is a stage prepped.

We wander around the open floor, as it fills with people, and dance a little more. Occasionally, I'd leave her to go do something, like talk to a bouncer or the bartender and people at the bar. At first, she'd stay put, then I noticed she started wandering, hmmmm. We talk more about EU and things seem to be going well, when she says she wants to smoke. At this point, my bladder is about to explode. I lead her to the smoking area, and we can't have drinks outside. I can't really think, I have to piss so bad, so I tell her I'm hitting the BR while I finish my drink and I'll meet her outside. She agrees, but I sense the end. Sweet fucking release...so sweet.

I go back outside and find her. She's talking to two dudes, and I open again with "Hey, Swedish girl." The guys start leading the conversation and I try too hard to take it back. I'm kind of drunk, and my aggressiveness leaks out into my demeanor, as the guy closest to her starts AMOGing it up. I have a feeling I came off as beta, only because a small amount of jealousy leaked out. Fuck it, I say. I slowly turn and open a cute HB7. Her energy's great and I kino the hell out of her. As this new girl drops the BF bomb, I see HB8 go back inside, though hesitantly, with the two dudes. Fuuuuuuuucccckkk, this one hurt. I don't see her again. Continued in comments...
