Negs are one specific thing I can think of.. I tried using them a few times and it always comes off rude (even in a joking manner).

Yeah, this is related to an area I have researched for years and have a few crackpot sociological opinions. I think that the Japanese have no real understanding of satire, in the way Westerners do. It comes off as rude rather than a joke. This is especially true for gaijin, the nihonjin don't know what social motives you have for speaking that way, they don't get it. So be careful with cocky/funny or negs.

Here is a common pattern used in Japan:

invite her out for some drinks.
keep her entertained until the trains stop running.
done.

There really isn't much more to it that. She'll be sure to know what time it is, and if she allows herself to "miss" the last train, she is basically giving herself an acceptable excuse to spend the night with you.

I wouldn't throw out the idea of negs entirely just because they haven't worked for you yet. Actually, I wouldn't even use terms like negs at all, but for the sake of communicating and helping I will. Negs are a lot like teasing and humorous/playful conversation. And a big part of having enjoyable conversation that includes playful teasing is the timing, delivery and connection. So the issue might not be with negs as a whole, but the slight nuissance differences between western/japanese girls.

As for the "just broke up with her boyfriend bla bla bla" I wouldn't give much attention to it. If you find that she keeps dwelling over him and isn't giving you what you need then you should probably modify your game plan with how you interact with her.

One more thing, lunch on a Monday? I don't get it. I might be a little closed minded on this, but lunch on a Monday doesn't translate into fucking to me. Don't get me wrong, I love having lunch with beautiful women on Mondays. But, this is after we've already started having sex. Let me know how this Monday Lunch thing works out for you, I'm curious about it.

next time .. do the "lets cook dinner together" thing. japanese people in general love food, and they really love good food. if you can make her something from your culture, that tastes really good, it will be a huuuuge DHV. from that point, shes already in your house and you can work from there.

when im not going for the same night lay, this is one of my go-to day 2s with j girls and it works very well.

Well, I'm married to a Japanese woman myself. I have to say one of the biggest things I could recommend is to just be yourself. Most foreigners are generally attractive to Japanese women. They enjoy the naturally good way that most of us treat women -- not like sex objects.

Act yourself and just be honest. I don't think you need to conform to her perceptions of what a boyfriend should be.

I say don't wait. Be honest with her. You understand she broke up with someone not too long ago. You understand that it's hard to go through that.

Seriously, show her some respect and I think that goes further than anything else could. At least, if she's your typical girl.

Negs work just fine in Japan, but you have to be socially calibrated.

I guarantee if you ask a cute girl, "Are you sure you're not really Korean?" 「本当は韓国人。」 it will have an effect on her.

I get the impression from your post that you need more experience. How often do you find yourself in social situations? Do you ever go to bars/clubs in downtown areas? If not, get more time out in the field interacting with Japanese people from ALL walks of life. You will become more approachable and interesting that way.

Also, this e-book is actually pretty well written and covers everything you're asking for. I would recommend it as a purchase for someone in your situation. It covers everything from pickups to text game to dating to sex, specifically as a foreigner in Japan.
