As a biology student, we had the chance to observe jellyfish recently which do not swim but rather lie on the ocean, facing upwards. The fact that they have thousands of mouths, rather than just one, enables them to have this evolved state and still collect enough food to survive. Naturally, it made me think of sex.

Women aren't just attracted to the best genes (tall, blonde, muscular) - they are also looking for people that are different that they feel willing to experiment with. Lots of successful guys don't at all fit the "classic model".

Imagine the first jellyfish that was able to lay upside down because it had two mouths. Some wild female jellyfish thought this was nifty enough to mate with him. Then, over time, the species evolved. Women are constantly looking around for ways to make our species evolve - and who's going to be the guy fit for that role: Fabio, or someone completely novel and interesting?

It makes a pretty strong argument for personality over appearance.
