Anytime a girl compliments me, whether it be sarcastic or not, I have two retorts that get laughs from the girls that already like me and pass the shit tests of girls trying to throw me off.
1: "Oh, stop that [said bashfully], you're making me turn a deeper shade of brown"
2: "Aw, thanks, little lady. That's awfully sweet of you but I prefer to be described as handsome, rugged and manly ;-)"

Girl says sarcastically "Oh, you look cute in that shirt, reminds me of my brother in high school." That would be my response to what's obviously a bit of a shit test. Any physical compliment given to me, whether it be sarcastic or genuine, can be responded to in this way. Its a spectacular default if you don't know where you are in the interaction. The longer you've been in set the more likely you should be to genuinely accept a compliment.

I just don't say how that's a good comeback. If a girl said, "reminds me of my bro..blabla"
And I say, I'd like to be called rugged, that's beta.
It's also open and VERY easy for someone to shoot you back a comeback, "HAHAHA, rugged? more like blablabla"

The reason it works is because I don't look any of those things. The way I deliver the line makes it sound like I'm describing a mountain man, something I clearly am not. Any girl that responds the way you suggest would look foolish in front of everyone. With that being said however, I have been blown out in the past this way I no longer react to it and hence, no problem.

Ok, here's one for the Tokyo seddit boys. I hope I got this right, it's been a long time since I used this. It was particularly effective when I was teasing J girls while I was cooking at a barbeque. It's a really clever pun.
火遊びすると
手を焼いて行くよ。
The pun does not translate at all, but literally this phrase says "if you play with fire, you're going to get your fingers burned."

I think it's: 「火遊びすると火傷する。」
That might be funny if you were cooking on a grill. I can try it out sometime.

Actually, I was. Making yakisoba in a little pan over the fire. I used those huge cooking chopsticks. It was hilarious. Big henna gaijin 2 meters tall with big chopsticks, cooking over my tiny hibachi.
Yeah, that could be it, yakedo. But that makes it a different meter that doesn't fit with the to/yo rhyme. I wasn't sure about that final verb conjugation. My Japanese is surely rustier than yours. But bounce it off a native speaker and hit me back if we get a "native speaker intuition" ruling.

Isn't "te" - "手" just the Kanji for hand?
Also means fingers, sort of. There is 指 for finger, and detailed notations for specific fingers but, you know, I never bothered to learn them. LOL.
This is an old idiom, a double entendre. Native speakers will laugh but probably not anyone else unless they have seen this archaism before. Damn I hate explaining a joke but anyway..

Tell this sometime to a girl, you're basically telling them you're a dangerous guy to fall in love with. If you play with fire, you're going to get burned. In 7-7 meter, it's a disqualifier in poetry. You tell that to a girl and it will make her hot (me wo yaku / her eyes burn). I remember using this line and oh that look.
