I know what you mean, I’ve been there. The reason is that you lack confidence in yourself and others can pick up on that subconsciously. Focus on improving yourself in every aspect (lift, profession, fashion, etc) and this situation will organically improve.

Right now you probably lack any compelling reason for anyone to care about you, so you just gotta do some interesting shit like travel, play music, sports or something. You will create a more interesting version of you.

I feel you. I grew up with a dissociative disorder, and have occasional psychotic episodes.

I feel as a shadow, witnessing and not being witnessed. Sometimes I'm not even sure I exist, I don't go out anymore or have friends but I used to show up to places and people would be like "whoa, when did you get here" even though I made a noise like opening a door or walking up to someone. I must have been an A class Ninja in a past life.

As a person who used to be like that:

Stop looking for validation from other people. At the end of the day it's every man and woman for themselves. Even your friends and family have a limit of being dependable - it might be a very high threshold, but the only person on whom you can rely 100% is yourself. So yourself should always be your mental point of origin.
Build personal power. Charisma, looks, money, etc.. Things that make people want to befriend you, but are still useful even if you're surrounded by strangers. The old cliche of "become the best version of yourself". When you're a person that commands respect, people will flock to you on their own. Still remember the rule #1 though.

I had this same issue as well in the past. its called low social status. now , when i speak people listen.

back in the day, a bunch of would be conversing, and i would try and contribute and people would not pay me any attention. it was almost like I was on another radio frequency. after a while i stopped trying to participate.

as improved my GAME and my FRAME, and people came RESPECT me. they listen. and if they act like they didn't hear me, I speak up and call them out on it.
