Personally I don't think you did anything wrong, sounds like you just had one of them nights, sh*t comes up, peoples plans get interupted and not offending anyone but a flirty waitress probably isn't the most relaible person. Chin up mate it's not the end of the world just an excuse to go out and find another potential peice of talent to charm ;)

Being assertive is good and all, but usually its a good idea to wait for her to say "Yes, I will be there" before actually going to the place.

It sounds like you have AA, and the only reason you talked to the shot girl was because she approached you. These girls usually give out their number to anyone, some even have 2 phones, just for this purpose.

Don't start out by trying to pick up bartenders/waitresses/shot girls/strippers. You will run into this kinda thing all the time. You have to run a whole different style of pickup for those girls. I find spontaneity works best here. Show her that you're fun, then attempt to isolate. "We're going over to [some bar/party] with a bunch of people, you should come with us." (Has to be done close to when she's getting off work). Once at the party, continue to demonstrate value, and let her come to you. (She's not your date, don't chase after her).

I think you missed it when you said your car line to her. You gave authority to her, and let her call the shots. I think a line bullshitting about your grandfather having a muscle car would of helped you guys connect more, giving you some more kino time and building attraction. She was a bitch for standing you up though, and lying about it. Now you have to go out and get 5 more numbers to make up for it, get to work
