Hey dudes,
I've felt like kind of a keyboard jockey the past couple months, because I haven't really been going out, and have been going through RSD's Blueprint Decoded. But Saturday I went out with sors37 and had a fucking blast. And I think I'm going to get addicted to this shit.
We went to a somewhat swanky place downtown, where the girls are hot and everyone is pretty well-dressed. I wanted to start with the place I was most "afraid" of, and let the chips fall where they may.
We show up and chat for a little bit, dick around getting drinks, checking out the various rooms, etc. Eventually, I'm like, OK, time to approach. It's funny – in Blueprint Tyler talks about value scanning (looking around the club for something to make you feel better about yourself, e.g. a girl) vs. just being in your body, moving with your own intentions, etc. – instead of actively looking around for a set to open, I just meandered until I found one in front of me.
And then... I went for it. One of the most awesome attitudes about approaching that I got from Blueprint is the idea that you just need to trust your own faculties that you'll be able to come up with shit to say when you need to, so you absolutely don't need to be in your head thinking "what do I say??" as you walk up. I see two cute girls by themselves, walk up, put my hand on one of their backs, and open with something totally generic like, "Hey what's up?"
Is that the best opener in the world? Hell no, but (to quote Blueprint again – I'm going to do this ad nauseam for awhile) you can open with anything if you do it with belief in yourself.
I could recount more details of the night, but I've already said what I want to say. The short version is, I talked to them for awhile, opened another set when they left for the bathroom, talked to them again when they got back. One was being a bit touchy toward the end, and if I had had more conviction (= been more into her) I might have had the balls to try to pull her home, but I wasn't feeling it, so I just got her number. Hell, I don't even know if I want it – girl was really cute, but not really my type personality-wise – but the experience was pretty cool nonetheless.
TL;DR – Work on your inner game and AA goes away. Feels good man
