I got to a fairly small school (4,000-5,000 students). Most of the parties are held in dorm rooms where about 30 people show up. There is alcohol and people drink and play beer pong etc. How would you suggest I go up to random (female) strangers and start a conversation? I'm a little bit of a comic and do standup/improv is there a way I can use this to my advantage? I guess what I am asking for is some basic pick-up techniques and strategies.

Will it change if the location is a Frat house with 200+ people with just a bunch of music and dancing?
