I posted this in AskSeddit but I figure it's more of a general discussion point and I'd like to hear from more of the community.

So I went out on a date with a girl (met online so it was the first time we met in person), set up a second date for about a week later (neither of us had time in-between). The day comes and I drop a quick text to confirm that we were still on for that evening, set a firm time, etc. Her response was 'maybe we shouldn't get together since neither of us bothered to see what the other was doing the past few days'.

Now, I don't particularly care about getting blown off by this girl, but I am not a huge fan of babysitting girls between dates with texts and phonecalls. However, I will happily do so if there's good reason.

What's everyone's opinion on keeping things warm between dates? Did I fail to meet some sort of unspoken protocol or was this a simple case of her being 'meh' on the idea in general?
