Well obviously you have to meet up to give back the ipod. The best place to do this is going to be yours because she was there the other night. Unless she was that off her face or her friends took her to the place, she should know how to get there (plus you could always give her directions).

The most important thing here is just mentioning to pick up the ipod and for you to give it back to her when she's available. If you try and ask her out over text it'll be extremely awkward if she declines and then still has to pick up the ipod from yours. It'll make the situation terrible for both of you.

Instead, when she gets to yours, try and start a friendly conversation about the night and anything else that you guys might have talked about or refresh her memory if she has no idea what happened. If things are going well, ask her if she's busy and proceed into asking her out somewhere at that time. If you say "Hey let's go get coffee sometime", then it's going to sound really bad. If she's actually busy but wants to see you, she'll rearrange another time.

Otherwise, just smile, say goodbye and move on. You're most likely not going to go on a date with her but you'll never know. She won't be expecting it, so maybe you can surprise her and make her day :)

Wtf? That is creepy as hell. The way I see it, there's 2 things you can do. 1) give her her damn ipod back but just be a cool person when she has to get it or 2) tell her you are somewhere and that you guys can meet up there, then go back to your place while being cool on the way back and give her the ipod. Arrange a later date from there.

Also, there's actually no "winning move" here, this may very well be just a lose/lose. Since you do have this person's number, there's probably a more ideal way to get this person alone with you than her accidentally leaving an ipod she wants at your place.
