Got a girl's number at a club, but she almost seemed reluctant to give it to me. Should I proceed and how?

She's not interested. She was ok with you being in her group (and even friendly) while the other guys were there acting as a buffer, and then put up her guard when the guys left and you had more opportunity to hit on her. She only gave you her number because you said it was to meet new "friends" and she felt she couldn't say no to something supposedly so harmless without being rude. If you try to ask her out, she will reject you, and it's unlikely you'll even get a good response if you text her to just hang out, period.

That said, eh, text her--maybe she won't respond, but so what? It's not like texting is either a lot of risk or a lot of effort. And who knows, there's always that one-off chance.

But yeah, if you're gonna do pick up, you want the girls to volunteer their numbers, not to talk hesitant girls into giving theirs to you.

Also, if you actually want to hook up with these girls, don't act like you're just looking for friends, unless you're prepared for it to get super awkward when you make a move and get shot down because she was just hanging out with you out of pity on your loneliness. Be flirty! And if you ARE just looking for friends, then look for friends and consider whatever else may happen a bonus rather than something you're trying to orchestrate.

Tip: Don't ask for numbers overtly. Imply that you have to go and that you would like to hang out sometime. If they agree, they'll give you their number without being asked. This is just a little way to avoid "non-responders."

But yeah, just call her, mangus. lol
