I was at a house party with a number of alumni from my high school. As a sophomore in college, it was nice to see old friends and reminisce on our high school days. A couple other guys and I were talking about getting that New Year's kiss, and considering that it was less than twenty minutes till midnight, I was feeling pressured. I concentrated on chilling out and having a good time.

A HB9 friend from my high school arrived. She was drunk and maybe rolling on E; she was quite happy to see me. We talked for a little bit and she told me that she didn't like our high school because it promoted capitalism and some other political mumbo-jumbo (sorry, bio major here). So I joked that, because of my Eastern European descent, that have Communism in my blood and nicknamed her "comrade". Great response, lots of kino throughout this interaction.

Fast forward to the last few minutes of the year. I was watching the ball drop and chatting up other people. At midnight, HB9 was hooking up with her ex-boyfriend. I paid no mind, and a few minutes afterward I approached her.

I said in an authoritative, Soviet voice, "My Communist comrade, I require a new year's kiss," and pointed to my cheek. Did I sell myself short? Yes. I instantly regretted pointed to my cheek. But, all was not lost. Immediately after kissing me on the cheek, she kissed me on the lips.

I say to her with a smirk, "Wow, it was that easy? Shouldn't we just hook up then?"

She says jokingly, "Yeah, totally, we should go all the way and have sex right here!"

I chuckled, and then got close, pulled her head in, and started making out with her. After we stop, she says that despite her hatred for our high school and the people of it, she would greatly enjoy hanging out with me. Gave her my number, will be pleasantly surprised if I get contacted.

TL;DR --> New Year's make-out with HB9 Communist.

thoughts:

  • I realize that kissing a girl is a lot less stressful than one would think. If you go in for a kiss, and she stays and starts kissing back, good job. If she doesn't kiss back, stop after a few seconds. You still got a kiss. If she turns away, give kiss on the cheek. It's difficult to "rape-kiss" a girl that you know/have been talking to, and if you do, apologize and go on your merry way.

  • I was always worried about taking advantage of a drunk girl, but I think the interaction becomes questionable further down the road. Had I led her to a bedroom to have sex and she was wasted, I feel that would be taking advantage of her. But a kiss is nothing, and a New Year's kiss is barely anything. So go for it guys, you actually have nothing to lose.
