My friend told me a joke that changed my attitude for the better:

"A man is walking in the park when he notices a guy sitting on a park bench, he stops a woman walking past him and says something to her. She immediately slaps him in the face and storms off, he proceeds to calmly walk back to the bench and sit back down like nothing happened. Intrigued the man walks over to the bench to ask this guy what he said that caused such a reaction, he says "Oh, I asked her if she wanted to have sex with me behind those bushes." Laughing the man replies "You must get slapped in the a lot!" "Yeah" the guy says "but I also get laid a lot."

Moral of the story for me was that the more women you approach, the more likely you are to succeed in whatever you are trying to accomplish. Or, as The Great One said "I miss 100% of the shots I don't take."
