Title. Basically we broke up like a week ago. It’s very fresh. Happened to be just before the anniversary of me opening of my small business. Have been no contact for 4 days (again very fresh), and today I received an icebreaker text reading, “Congratulations on 3 years of xxxxx! I have a very small token for you, but I didn't want to crash your night. It will keep, let me know when you're ready to see me.”

My plan is to straight ignore. I’m not trying to be bitter, I just don’t want to play any sort of validation game. The gift makes it tricky though. I feel obligated to go retrieve it, but maybe that’s the point. Thoughts? Additionally, my birthday is next week, I may get a very similar text next week with more time on the table....
