Backstory: Met a girl through a summer job, went out a couple of months ago. We got some drinks, went for a walk, had some laughs, and ended with a bit of a make out.

We ended up hanging out again briefly a couple of weeks later. Nothing fancy just a quick coffee after work. Her vibe was a bit more distant this time, but I just chalked it up to midterm stress. She was still generally warm and receptive to me, but less so than our first night out.

I've initiated some texts with over the last couple of months, either to ping her or setup a hangout, but she's always been busy. Over those 2 months she hasn't made an effort to contact me or raincheck any plans I've tried to make.

On Wednesday I shot her a message to see if she wanted to hang out after work. She told me she was out with friends, so I just left it at that. It was my final shot to hook her in. I didn't bother replying and just decided to move on.

I wake up this morning to find a facebook message from her saying "heyy". This is the first time she's initiated communication with me.

I'm a bit confused now and don't know how to proceed. Should I reply through fb or text? I generally try to avoid messaging through fb, I prefer calling or texting.

Do I acknowledge this with something like "So are we downgrading to fb messaging now? what's up?".

Or should I take a more general approach with "got your fb message, what's up?" and seeing where it goes.

Is there a better way to handle this? Looking for some input. Thanks!
