plan for your future, and make mature decisions... have some stability so she will have something to tell her friends about you.

take a good look at how responsible she is, how committed she is to working on her personal goals, and if she knows how to resolve issues --even little ones.

most of all, don't make a ho your girlfriend

//edit: also, she'll probably look "average". those are the ones we get the warm fuzzies for, apparently. dark eyeliner and platform shoes while the sun is still out is not "average", that is a girl who is still too busy going crazy to be anyone's girlfriend --> and that feeling is in your pants, not your heart. get to know the difference :-D
