I always text the next day. I will generally ask her about something that we talked about.

For example: I met a girl last night. She said that she was going home today (she's in college) for work. So I texted her in the afternoon, "How goes the work." From there I set up a dinner date with her.

Standard answer: Text her that night. If its too late for that, next day. Depends on when u text her, but standard is "Hey! It was nice to meet you. Hope you got home safe :) - (name)

First text, right away :" Hey (hername) , this is (yourname)'s number, and this is the most important number in your phone right now.

second text: later, or anytime, she will remember you...
