Treat the disease not the symptoms, to wit. Don't focus on the hot quality of the girl. Focus on the request or whatever she wants. This will solve many problems.

A hot chick asks you to play a crap song. She's hot, so you say yes. You play it, and feel shitty about yourself because you didn't want to but were manipulated by her beauty. So you decide to say "fuck this" no more requests. But you feel bad AGAIN because you legitimately don't want to be a dick DJ.

Responses to shit tests might feel like the answer because you are making them work for the song. "If I'm not a pushover, then I won't feel like a manipulated pussy." But it won't solve the problem -- only mitigate the effects of feeling used. Clever responses take us half way there.

So the solution is to be sold on the request itself, not the requester. A hot girl asks to play a shitty song. Tell her you don't really want to play it. But you'll give her a chance to convince you why you should. Suddenly, her looks are taken out of the equation. She must promote the merits of the song alone. HERE is where it get's interesting. She might try to re-introduce her looks, "Cause I'm like, cute/hot/etc." Shut that down with: "I get hot girls coming here all the time trying to do crazy things for their song. You gotta convince me." She might go in to please-mode with, "please-please-please-please!" You can response with, "If that doesn't work for me when I ask my girlfriend for a hummer during a basketball game, it's not going to work for you."

So she tries to convince you. If she presents a logical argument, play her song. You won't feel bad about it because you set the frame and took her hotness out of the equation. If you dig her, you can approach her afterwards and give her shit/props. If she doesn't try to convince you, then don't play her song. Bitchery doesn't pay. You won't feel bad about not playing her song. If you get shit from her friends for it, play the same frame again. Demand respect.

But if Jessica Alba requests the Macarena, you're fucked.

Dude fuck this.. completely disregard requests. Look at the dancefloor, if they're dancing you're doing it right. If not, change the fucking vibe and start taking requests. There's nothing more annoying than having some easily swayed DJ switch up my fucking vibe, yo.

What I usually do when I'm spinning at a club: almost all the time HB's type the song's name on their cell phone and show it to me ('cause of the noise). I grab their cell out of their hands, type in my number and give it back.

Also, my favorite answer on requests of shitty songs: "I'll see what I can do for you." which, basically, means 'no'.
