If you're going to lie why not make it something cooler than a fucking garbage man?

No one lies about their job and says "oh I work in accounting" or "I sit in a cubicle answering phones". Make it exciting.

The first thing I thought about after reading this was use that "fail" for the better.

If that was me, later on I would go to where they are sitting and JOKINGLY say "do you want me to pick up that trash before i go" (something to that effect) to initiate conversation again and either put down a business card or say what you really do and bring it to a close for the night.

Is leaning in to talk to someone beta behavior? I feel I have to do it quite often at loud venues because I have shitty hearing.
