"if you think I'm being too hasty let me know ;)" so I told her that we would just take it slow and get to know each other first by texting.

hugely beta. would never text anything like that.
HB9 you say, getting to know each other through texting? that must be a really shy HB9.
you ask the girl out with minimal text work, she either complies or doesn't. trying to warm her up by exchanging superfluous messages before a date is only going to show what a pussy you are.

You can try asking her again. If she flakes again, move on to the next girl.

Impossible to tell.
But you should not have made excuses for your behaviour. Asking someone out is your right. She can say no, and that's fine. But don't say you are sorry for asking her out. That is silly.
Flaking is the new bottled water. They do that shit ALL the time. Just get used to it. I would avoid text game "to get to know her". Instantly kills all attraction unless you are amazingly good at it.

Yeh. What I meant was that you made into your fault for her flaking..."Was I too forward?...I will do better next time. I promise!" ... you see?
She flaked. Not your fault. Keep that in mind. Don't make excuses for your actions. The girls don't like that. They want a man that is confident in his own decisions.
