Let me preface this by I had no expectations for anything, and merely did this as a "She's the cutest girl I've seen here, I should at least talk to her before I leave or else I'll regret it" moment.

ACTUAL FR:

Saw a cute girl sitting down with her friend. Went up to her and said "Hey, you're really cute" introduced myself to both of them. Say that I can't stay long (was actually about to leave) so I handed the cute one my phone. She puts in her number. Say it was nice meeting you and depart.

This is only the second time I've just handed a girl my phone but wow, it definitely seems to work wonders as opposed to trying to ask for her number.

Now granted this is lacking in all the comfort/attraction rapport building stuff taught here, and I don't expect it to really go anywhere (Although, she actually responded to my next day text and we're having a conversation. I didn't expect any response at all.) but I wanted to illustrate a point that sometimes, even barring everything else, just give it a shot. Always TRY and don't let yourself regret missing an opportunity. You'll know what you truly want to do, so force yourself to do it.

The worst that will happen is it doesn't go anywhere, but even that is more comforting than not doing anything and just never knowing.
