Contact is important, but you don't want to over saturate yourself, nor do you want to rob yourself of initial conversation points for your first date. Message her if you feel so inclined, but don't smother her with texts. After all, you want to keep a bit of the mystery!

Myself, I wouldn't really text her until the day before or day of the date, and then just make it a confirmation that you're on for the date. You can try making some chit chat, but I do my best to stay away from it. I'm a firm believer that too much chit chat does nothing as far as building attraction, and I know from my past I have a bad habit of sending too many texts and coming off as needy, so I just don't text at all.

I would wait to text her. I just had a guy text me so much that I really don't want to see him now. Do the whole check-in to make sure she's still down (like the day before or day of), but other than that just wait! If she texts you first, that's one thing, but definitely err on the side of caution with texting her before you really have a good feel for her.

Yea i would be careful on what you say as well. I made plans on a Wed to get drinks with a girl for Sat. Didn't really text her much just maintained contact once in awhile. Figured she was going out on friday so I texted her to find out where she was going so I didn't run into her while talking to other girls. She then asked me where i was. Joked with her that she was going to stalk me now that she knows where i'll be (I already had a few drinks in me, wasnt thinking) turns out she had no sense of humor and called the date off. Her loss.

in my experience texting too much will FUCK IT ALL UP!!! even if you aren't, make it look like you're very busy by not texting her unless you absolutely have to. if you do want to text her, keep it short. trust me, overtexting can really fuck up everything.

as silly as it is, you can look really needy to a girl if you text too much, which is a huge turnoff for them. i personally dont see the big deal, i like texting people (my guy friends and girls), but for some reason girls can easily change their opinion of you if you text too much.

If you already set up the date, what's the point of texting her? So you can talk about your feelings or what? The whole point of the phone is to set up the date, once that's done, do not continue to contact her.

What's the purpose of the date? To get to know each other more/better.

Women like surprises and discoveries. She has in front of her a perfectly wrapped present that she believes she's going to like it. And you want her to shake the bok, try to guess what it is, poke a whole in the box, or even tell her what the present is all about? Hence ruining the BEST part of the present, the joy on unwrapping it little at a time... and be truly and fully surprised.

No next, except for 24 hours before the date saying something like Looking forward to see you tomorrow. Nothing more, do not confirm or whatever.

Personally, if she already agreed to the date, you should be texting her. Talk about something so that when you get to the actual date, you have some sort of conversation already going and you don't spend an hour looking at the water pitcher on the table.

If she mentions she had a big test, or that you had to do something at work, she can ask about it and you can ask about her shit. Most people aren't great at making up things on the spot, but if there was something there via text it's easier to springboard off of it.
