Talk to everyone, don't feel like you have to rush, 4 years is a long time, but that also means don't sit on your ass playing video games every weekend...just don't feel rushed so you are actually having a good time instead of trying to have a good time.

Rushing a fraternity will allow you to build confidence and status. There really isn't much to escalating in college, most everyone is DTF. However remember why you're at college, grades. It's easy to get caught up in the college environment. Go to class.

3rd year university student here.

Act impulsively, and with confidence. Talk to girls. Nothing comes free. If you have the thought to approach, do it. Act and speak with complete confidence, and the game is in your hands. Lead, do not follow.

If someone just plain can't hold a conversation with you, or rejects you, it is okay. Catch another bus, there's plenty of others waiting to pick you up for an even better ride. If you don't fear rejection, people respect you.

Sit next to pretty girls in class, wait for them to do something (drop a pen, crack their back) and open with a funny tease/neg. Hot chicks like this. From there, get that girl's number.

Try you hardest to obtain hot, close female-friends, so that you can take girls that you're interested in out with them. They'll see that women already like you, and feel more comfortable in the setting. Taking girls out to a bar, fraternity party, etc., when they have to come with just you and your guy friends is not ideal.

As helpful as reading and learning from the mistakes of others can be, this is a social skill, not an academic one (much to my disappointment), so it's practice, practice, practice. The good news is that you're entering the lowest-pressure, highest opportunity area of your life: Dorms. Go make it a point to talk to everyone often. Do yourself a favor and try to understand what different kinds of people enjoy talking and hearing about--it's not the same for everyone, trust me.

It's great that you've started reading--keep going, there's a lot out there. Personally I like (to an extent) Mystery to understand the basic underpinnings of the seduction process--in your case escalating. I heavily recommend David DeAngelo for a mindset that's easy to get a grip on--in your case projecting confidence. James Bond is my spirit animal.

If you can get a good understanding of all those things, you'll stand out more in the group as a side effect. One last thing: you won't be dealing with women for a few years, you're still predominantly surrounded by girls. It might sound like a pedantic distinction, but the games are different.

Maybe the most important thing is just meeting tons of people to make new friends. A solid group of guys to hang out with will make the next four years of your life a great time. Plus, going out with friends gives you an advantage in pickup.

First week of every semester (syllabus week) come 5 mins late to every class. Don't bring a single thing. Peacock a tiny bit with a hat, bracelt fuck it really anything she might notice or remember. Now walk in quietly and do a 20 second scout of the class talent. Look every girl in the eye. Pick the cutest with a seat open next too her.

Sit down beside her and whisper something along the of "long night! can i borrow an pen/ pencil / your number"(if your feeling bold). Keep up a conversation and better yet pass notes. Now you know one girl. Worst case she is taken and has friends. Best case you have a fuck buddy and free notes all semester. Economics (she supplies, you da man)

Spent 4 years doing this in every class. Worked in each semester at least once. Got me free notes about half the time. Most importantly though, it expanded my circle of girls i knew. Their friends became my booty calls/ my Frat's groupies.

Smartest thing I did in college. Hands down.
