As I am always eager to learn about the fragile details of social interaction and also want to share aquired knowledge, here it goes:
I am currently in China, at a town with no tourists. Every foreigner here is here for business. So as you can imagine, any group of foreigners is pretty isolated and on it's own, as western people continue to fear the open approach by strangers even here, though any information about the city could be useful.
But I continue fighting this fear without any compromise at bars everytime I am abled to go out. So after this introduction, this is what happened:
I am at a bar and see a group of ~16 people. There is this one black girl (We'll call her Ellen). A big one, everybody can see she's the alpha. I am a little bit afraid, so I open a group of two girls sitting a little apart, for the group will start noticing me and getting used to seeing me talking to practically anybody in the bar.
I am literally 30 seconds in, Ellen comes over. Turns out, the two girls are also part of the group, though only remotely connected. So Ellen opens me mid-game with these two girls and ejects me instantly into the group at her table.
As it turns out she was friendly as fuck and enjoys talking to random strangers as much as I do. I got to know a fuckload of people from pretty much every country of this world at her table and numberclosed a handful of people (Which is easy, as everybody is giving out their number, once you pass the social fear).
We have been partying with a mix of my/her group since. It's awesome.
What I learned:
-
Alpha girls can be a bitch sometimes, sure. You should never judge people beforehanded, though. Opening the obvious alphagirl and befriending her will give you access to a wonderful world with permission to talk to all of her friends without interruptions by other girls.
-
Be friendly. Talk to everybody at the table. When you are talking 1on1 with girl A and some girl B adds to the conversation, let her in. Do not try to shove B off, just because you like A more. You are an asshole if you do so (Does not apply, when B is trying to offend you).
-
Let strangers in. Holy shit does she know a lot of people by doing this. Everybody knows Ellen in this City. Unbefuckinglievable. She does not blow anybody off and chats with anybody coming close to her group. Don't be afraid of strangers coming to your friends. This makes you seem insecure about your friends. Do not be that guy. But be sure to check them first, if they may be dangerous.
-
New people are inspiration for your life (and also your game), as you gain different perspective on various topics. It works the same way, as artists go visiting places, listen to music or take drugs. Say it with me: IN-SPI-RATION. Just fucking listen to the people you talk to.
