Yes this is weird as in it's abnormal, but I don't think it's necessarily bad. In fact, I think it can possibly work in your favor.

If you internalize the idea that the girl has to earn kisses from you, then you're placing yourself in a great position. Not many men (myself included) can consistently reach that state where they're of such high value that they get to screen applicants for the position of 'girlfriend' (I'm using that term loosely).

I would be cautious, though, of using this idea as rationalization for your own shortcomings - i.e. a situation where you totally fuck everything up and just decide that "she wasn't good enough" without acknowledging and addressing your own mistakes.

All in all though, I'd say you're better off owning it. Just don't be afraid to make the move when you decide the time is right.

I think it's a good idea... you can generally avoid catching herpes that way.

If she's attracted to you, she'll be willing to wait. Every girl is different, but I'd say generally don't push it more than a month. I've also learned that once you've kissed a girl, you can pretty much keep the relationship at kiss-level for however long you want to wait, and the girl will give you a signal if it's taking too long. With timing issues, it's usually about the guy moving too fast rather than too slow.
