Those views are not mutually exclusive like you think.

Look, I want to be treated like a king and waited on hand and foot, but I wouldn't be very attracted to the girl treating me like that.

Girls might want to be chased, but they aren't going to have insane attraction and respect for the guys chasing them.

Now, of course in the beginning, you need to be the one making all the calls, texts and meetups happen, however it should still be coming from a non-needy place, letting her know you are making it easy to meetup because it is in her best interest, not because you need something from her.

So, she has to work for your attention, she has to chase you, while still in the beginning you are the one logistically making things happen.

Female chiming in. I'm fairly attractive and get hit on a decent amount but I will always pay attention to an attractive guy that talks to me, especially if he's confident about it. Please jut ask me out, don't dance around it.

I will also approach a guy and be confident and upfront about things. It works both ways.

like all things in life, think of things in a specturm, or a gradient. shades of grey, to borrow a phrase from poplit for women.

method 1and 2 can both be used to success but neither are ideal.

my style falls somewhere in between. it's very easy to tell when a girl is the type of who views herself as very selective, very hard to get, some less experienced and chivalrous among us might even use the term "bitchy" etc. and it's also very easy to tell when a girl is waiting to be swept off her feet. that's the good news.

the bad news is that both types of girls like and seek men with both types of behavior.

and the over-arching theme is abundance. both types of women want a man who already is desired by many other women. the first wants this man, because by sweeping her off her feet, he is essentially "choosing her" out of the dozens of others, that is romantic and sexy to a woman. the second wants a man of abundance because he is already preselected and because he is cool and because of his abundance he puts off a vibe of being very aloof, even around sexy women, this is also a turn on for women.

this works most effectively for a beginner/intermediate player in environments where women don't know you, because if you fake the act, they will hear the jazz music in their head and that's all that matters, my ninja...

always remember, if you are showing up at a girls doorstep with roses, and a piece of jewelry, it's because you've been with or dealt with dozens of other chicks whose looks can compare but their chemistry with you does not.

if you are playing hard to get with a hard to get girl, it's because you are so used to being seduced and having women around you that it's second nature for you to make them work a little.

and then there's the inbetween method which on a scale of method 1 to method two would fall at about a 1.3-1.5, that's the sweet spot.

You can stand out from the crowd and still chase after the girl man. Doing one doesn't mean you can't do the other. When you go after the girl, you want to do it with true core confidence so that you stand out from all the other betas trying to hit on her. Be the funny, attractive guy that knows what he wants and goes after what he wants.
