I find this to be a difficulty too around my age range. 19 years old, not a virgin, but not a sexual savant. I know that by now the majority of girls my age have had sex, but several times I have started escalating with a girl, only to realize that she is very shy about the topic of sex, and even alluding to it scared her, and not in a good way.

It all begins with kino, you can start to kino as early as 5 minutes in, depending on how good you are. This builds a comfort of you two together. When the topic does arise, you have to maintain the frame that sex is a very normal thing for you, and talk about it that way. If you make it feel like it's a very ordinary thing for you, and convey that vibe, it will make her more inclined to feel comfortable talking about it with you.

If you can pull it off as being funny and charming then do it, but IMO you shouldn't force sex talk into conversations as it might come out a bit creepy. You could for example read a few jokes about sex or look for some comedy show about sex and quote it sometime when you are talking about other stuff, especially if its funny to her

You should be the one to bring it up. I find it's easiest to start talking about when you are actively making out/snuggling/dry humping on the couch.
