I feel like this is true and it makes you a more exciting entity in her eyes. Girls dont always want to be put on a pedestal and made to feel great or conversely negged all the time i think its by mixing the two together and making her laugh and think that you really develop an emotional connection with a girl

The "roller coaster" as i like to put what you described is the best way of keeping a girl attracted and interested in you long-term. It's also effective if done "speedy" cause it will make her feel like she knows you better.
