No, don't scale back. As long as your not misleading women and you intentions are endearing then there is no problem.

As for a response. You can say "I know" or " glad you noticed" with a smirk on your face. Girls secretly like players or manwhores (not the ones who manipulate women and treat them like crap). They like them because on certain level they appreciate the experience the "manwhore" has. He knows what he wants in women. Hope this helps!

i don't do well with blunt or back-handed compliments either, especially when i can't tell if it's an attack. it's hard for me to keep up, but remaining playful and lightly sarcastic is the best response in my experience, since it's showing that you aren't phased by an attack on your character, and that you can take a compliment with grace and ease.

i'd want to respond to that with something stupid and disarming like, "i'm not just any manwhore, i'm the president of this city's international manwhore society. yall may be invited, if you're good." i'm more nerdy, so that may not be your style.

or, if i was drunk and feeling confident, i'd probably try to be overly sexual and dominant and say "yes ma'am, born and raised... how can i help you this evening?" and stare deep into their eyes while smiling and shifting my body to be more imposing... and then laugh it off while maintaining eye contact. i'm rarely in the right mood to pull that off that kind of blatant sexual tension-building, though, but i bet you can.

whatsoever is one word. for some women, spelling is more important to attraction than having a penis.
