So last night I went out to a bar downtown. It's one of a few bars in a big social area of my city, frequently packed, good music at a good volume, very talkative.

I opened to two girls who were standing by the wall by themselves. To open I asked if they had a minute to resolve a debate I've been having with my friend - and then ask one from a list of questions I've taken down for this opener.

One of the girls was pretty into me from the get-go. Kino was happening within 5 or 10 minutes. This is where I got pretty lucky - after those ten minutes, her friend said to her "Well I have to get going, like I said I could only stop in here for a minute, so-and-so is waiting for me." And so her friend left.

It escalates properly from there until I'm about to K-close. Now the K-close that I'm a big fan of is to get the appropriate body language confirmation and then do the "It's ok" - "What's ok?" - "It's ok that you want to kiss me. I want to kiss you too" bit.

This time, right when I was about to open my mouth to say "it's ok", the girl says "I know you want to kiss me."

I had no prepared response for this. I'm a real RSD-school kinda guy and so I like to turn everything into a joke, but so close to K-closing it did not feel like the right time to turn the comment into a joke. Making a joke would have meant breaking body language and the romantic/sexual atmosphere of the moment.

What would have been a good response to this? As played I kinda waffled/laughed it off, but I was so rattled that I just ejected. Already had her number so the game isn't theoretically over, but the last two minutes of our interaction were so bad that I don't really think this is gonna go anywhere.
