My friend, whom we will call Leon, and I are locals at this coffee shop in our town. I'm a video editor and get my work done there to prevent being a lazy fuck in my house. Leon has a Masters from USC and is possibly the most alpha individual I know; but is a quarter million in student loan debt and spends all of his free time researching Y chromosome genetics. Leon ain't perfect, but he is an empathetic/kind man at heart and I have a lot of respect for him.

Anyhow, we always smoke a little weed/few cigs in the parking lot out back when we meet up. Over the past few months, there has been the gradual assimilation of Armenian kids from the local high-school. They are absolutely reckless drivers and Leon snapped at them one day. He screamed how there are children walking around, that they won't hanging around any longer if they keep driving like dumbasses, and other similar shit. Being Armenian and 17 y/o males, they disrespect him/completely ignore what he was saying and Leon gets in their face/stares them down/walks off.

Two days after the confrontation (yesterday), 4 of the fucks confront him while we were smoking a joint and he tells them to fuck off. Words start going back n' forth, while I'm just chilling there puffing away and enjoying the entertainment, then one of the kids spits on Leon and throws a punch at him. He swings back and holds his own for about 30 seconds. A family is walking by and starts screaming that they will call the cops/telling them to break it up, but they keep going at it. Then they throw him on the ground and kick him a few times before driving off. He ended up messing up his shoulder real bad, but all the witnesses agree that he wasn't the aggressor. The police were involved minutes later and I'm fairly positive the kids are arrested at the moment. But I felt so bad for not helping a brother out.

Thing is; I have two violent convictions, assault w/deadly weapon and domestic violence (both of which are total bullshit if you think my opinion is credible) and these were minors! I'm 6'1 180 and pure muscle, I could have so easily blindsided one and done some serious damage. I was going to step in if it reached a certain point, but he didn't ask for help and I they had no serious connections/blows/kicks. I simply didn't know what the fuck to do. What would a cop think about some jacked 22 y/o ,with the criminal history that I have, breaking a kid's jaw?? Definitely wouldn't look good, even if it was justified.

Now I'm helping him sue those degenerates for all they've got, but I still feel like a bitch.
